The work which he thought
was not only intended to meet the immediate need of bread and clothe the poor, but to redeem them spiritually and socially;
therefore he had "in the soul the desire to see rise to a religious community, consumed in love, to copy itself in the life of Jesus Christ."
This community center would have been an engine of a mobilization of souls and the means to serve the poor.
It also outlined the characteristics:
"The members of this community - he wrote - look Jesus Christ in poor
and make him love for love, so:
1) must give everything we have to have the luck to be admitted to the service of the poor;
2) have to work, beg to collect what is necessary to raise the poor from their suffering, and her own;
3) must always postpone them to their needs so that without a plate of soup, a shirt, a bed, etc.., Is for them to be missing and not for the poor;
4) are preferred in all the poor as the image of Jesus Christ. "
